He graduated from Leningrad State University with a lawdegree in 1975

Putinbegan his career in the KGB as an intelligence officer. Thereafter he startedhis administrative career in Russia. Putinwas appointed head of the Federal Security Service, an arm of the former KGB,as well as head of president Yeltsins Security Council.
