St. Isaacs Cathedral, officially named the Cathedral of St. Isaac of Dalmatia), the largest Orthodox Church in St. Petersburg. Located on St. Isaacs square. Has the status of a Museum; registered in June 1991, the Church community has the opportunity to worship on special days with the permission of the Directorate of the Museum. Built in 1818-1858 years by architect Auguste Montferrand; the construction was supervised by the Emperor Nicholas I, the Chairman of the Commission building was Carl Opperman.
