Learning a foreign language is a hard work. It is a long, sometimes boring and slow process. Every day you should devote your time and efforts to learning. The most difficult thing is that English is very different from your own. And of course a native language has a powerful influence on a person.Eveyone asks when it is better to start studying. It is easy when youa child. You are open for knowledge and you think more about learningthan about other problems. When you are an adult it isn’t so easy. It requires much patience,time, efforts. As for me I start learning at school. But I was fool anddidn’t work hard. When I had entered the university I met a wounderfulteacher of English. She made me learn this language. Today English andme are the best friends. I’d like to say some words about my studies. Ihad 3 lessons a week. I had to learn the ABC, transcription, soundsagain. Then from lesson to lesson I learnt new words, grammar rules,conversational phrases. Some of them I learnt by heart.I tried to listen much in English. I watched films, differentvideos, listened to music in English. It helped me much. I read andtranslated texts every day, did many grammar exercises.I’d like to give you some advice how to be succeedin studying. The most important thing is to be patient. You will seethat you have to repeat new words again and again. When you are able touse them automatically, you should take another group and do the same.Some people have an idea if they memorise long list of vocabularythey will learn the language. It is much more. You have to put yourattention to grammar. After you can use the grammatical structures, youcan enrich your vocabulary.I think learning foreign languages is very useful nowadays. You cancommunicate with people all over the world, you can know the cultureand, of course, you will become a well-rounded and educated person. The more languages you speak, the more times you are a human being. So I can really say that English in my lifeplays a very important role. I have a good job with high salary. I cantravel abroad and communicate with others without any problems. I canuse internet easily , read different manuals and understand them. My outlookhas become much wider. Of course, my english is not perfect. I havesome problems. But I continue studying every day. Practice makesperfect.In conclusion I’d like to admit that at first English may seemeasy. But there is a bridge between basic knowledge and mastery. And ittakes a long time across. But remember that English has become aninternational language. To know it is absolutely necessary for everyeducated man, for every good specialist.
