I doesnt think that you parents doing something wrong because they just worried about you. If you will show them that you can be more serious they will understand you.  
But you need try to understand that problem on your own because education plays an important role in everyones life.In most cases, when applying for a job, a person require in any way to confirm their knowledge and skills because you cant avoid it.
